Mojacar - Almeria - Spain

March 22, 2018

Whenever I find out I am filming in Mojacar in Spain, I am always happy.  Although we own a family home on the Costa Del Sol in Spain, Mojacar on the Costa Almeria is somewhere I would also consider buying.  The beaches are beautiful as is the pueblo (the white washed village up on the hill), with some fantastic views of Almeria.

With a choice of 3 airports from the UK; Murcia (1hr 40 min), Alicante (2hrs) and Almeria (45 min), its extremely accessible and property in this region offers good value for money.

Over the years of being part of A Place in The Sun, I have filmed in Mojacar 6 times, and last year I even helped Louie Spence and his husband search for a holiday home which was a lot of fun.  This time filming (in March 2018) I had an equal amount of fun with Chris and Lynne.

One of my favourite things about being part of A Place in the Sun is meeting new people, and Chris and Lynne were an absolute pleasure.  I was so happy to find such deserving couple an AMAZING property at an AMAZING price!...This episode will be on screen in June/July so be sure you look out for it.

I wore a bright green dress from Joanie and some lovely jewellery from Bacoca and myself Chris and Lynne were well co-ordinated.  This is never planned but it's often the case that my clothes seem to compliment what my house hunters are wearing.

We stayed in The Parador on Mojacar Playa, somewhere I have also stayed with the children previously.  There are a number of play areas along the beach front, and the commercial centre with a good supermarket and some nice clothes shops is within walking distance.

I dined in Pura Vida which offers some good cocktails and smoothies and an inexpensive menu with some nice tapas dishes.  I also tried a new sushi restaurant (literally next door to the Parador) which was lovely.

If you visit Mojacar and rent a car it's worth visiting 'Texas Hollywood, Fort Bravo, The Film Studio'.  It's a fab day out with  cowboy/western horse shows and a swimming pool which is much needed if you visit in the Summer months.  Close by  in Vera there is also  Aquavera a Water Slide park.  Open between May and September a family ticket for 4 costs around £50.

Mojacar has a golf course too and if you tune in to watch the episode you will see who managed to get a hole in one!
