BELFAST… what a weekend!

BELFAST… what a weekend!

I headed to Belfast for what was technically a 90th birthday celebration… although thankfully nobody was actually turning 90!

It was a joint 60th + 30th birthday, celebrated with a musical mystery bus tour to a secret venue outside of the city of Belfast and the theme was psychedelic fancy dress!

So, of course, the outfit had to make a statement!

And what happened on the mystery bus tour?

Well… what goes on tour, stays on tour!

Let’s just say there was music, great food, incredible people and an amazing party. Some weekends are definitely better left without a full written account!

And Belfast itself was such a great surprise.

If you’re planning a weekend here, Titanic Belfast is an absolute must. Titanic was designed, built and launched in the city, and experiencing the story in the place where it all began gives it a completely different perspective.

I’d also make time for St George’s Market for food, local produce and atmosphere, wander through the Cathedral Quarter for its cobbled streets, bars, restaurants, street art and live music, and see Belfast City Hall while exploring the centre.

For a deeper understanding of the city, a black-cab or walking tour is a fascinating way to discover Belfast’s history, its murals and how much the city has changed.

What struck me most was the mix. Belfast has an extraordinary and complicated history, but it also feels fun, creative, welcoming and full of energy.

Great people, great atmosphere, a gorgeous place to stay, a fabulous psychedelic outfit and a birthday celebration I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Will I be sharing everything that happened?

Absolutely not… what goes on tour, stays on tour!
